What Causes An Itchy Ridge On The Top Of The Head?

i have a ridge at the top of my head, from the hairline back. you can t actually see it but you can feel it. and its painful to the touch but otherwise doesn t bother me too much. its fairly recent (last few months) and sometimes it itches. x-rays showed nothing. any clue what could be causing this?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi,

Itchy Ridge can be a feature of linear morphea. It is a connective tissue disorder and is characterized by depression in the dermis. Intralesional steroid injection is the treatment of choice while in chronic cases fillers can be used.

Hope it helps. If you have any other question please do not hesitate to contact us.

Regards,
Dr. Atishay Bukharia
