I was 6 wks pregnant when I was diagnosed with UTI having 7-11 hpf pus cells. I took antibiotic (Cefalexin) for 7 days 3x a day as prescribed my doctor. Now it s my 7th week, I had another urinalysis and the result says my pus cells are over 50 hpf! What is happening? I thought I am being treated by the antibiotic but why is that my pus cells even increased?!
I see that the antibiotic was not effective because the infection continues.
I suggest doing a urine culture to confirm the bacteria and proper treatment.
Meanwhile, I suggest using anti-inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the symptoms.
I also suggest drinking liquids and especially cranberry juice for relieve.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
