What Causes An Egg Shaped Bump On The Back Of The Head?

I went to my Primary with an egg shaped bumb on the back of my head. I woke up one morning feeling like I had been beaten with a baseball bat to the head. I have a small spot on my head that I scratched and caused an abrasion. Just below that is the egg shaped bump and just below that is a small bump on my neck. The Dr looked closely at the one on my neck and said she thought it was a bug bite. The pain travels from the bug bite up through the egg bump and ends near the top of my head. The Dr. thought it might be stress related as I have been under extreme stress for 2 /12 years. Yesterday when I woke up I noticed that the bump had changed. I am unable to see the bump because of my hair. When I followed the bump with my finger, it seems as if it might be blood vessels . The bump is now squiggly lines. Though it is still painful to touch, some of the pain has subsided. I should also mention that the pain shoots down to my sciatic nerve, which has been so bad that my leg feels as if it is asleep all the time. Do you believe this is stress related? Or should I seek s second opinion?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
We need to consider an infected skin or a blocked oil gland (sebaceous cyst)getting infected thereby leading swelling of lymph glands in the neck.
A course of broad spectrum antibiotics ANTI inflammatory medication for 5 days with help.
Thereafter if it persists suggest that you consult general sugeon for second opinion.

Sciatica may be due to local pressure on the buttock caused by pronged sitting or due to prolapse lumbar disc(joint in between the backbones) -for this you need to const an orthopaedician.
Hope this helps
