What Causes Ammonia Smell In Nose While Breathing?

I have an ammonia smell in my nose when I breath in deeply. I am 56 with chronic pancreatitis & type 2 diabetes. My pancreas has been declared 98% calcified. Although I was on a life sustaining feeding tube via my intestine, I have been off of that for 25 months now. My glucose levels average 350 and spike very often into the 600 s. Any idea s?

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Smelling of ammonia, sugar in the range of 350 to 600, calcific pancreas and other problems is indicating that you are not taking proper treatment.
You need to be lifelong Insulin therapy.

I would advise you to rush to the ER, get investigated, admitted till the sugars are normal and most important get all other reports related to the liver functions, kidney function and so on.
This may be a serious problem.
