What Causes Ammonia Like Body Odor While On Lisinopril?

Recently my body chemistry seems to have changed and I now have an ammonia like body odor. My Lisinopril dosage was increased from a 1/2 to a whole 10 milligram tablet because it was so difficult to actually break the small tablets in half. Could my Lisinopril dosage be a cause for this body odor? I also suffer from polycystic kidney disease and could this be a reason for the change in body odor?

Hi,

Lisinopril is an angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitor medication used primarily in the treatment of high blood pressure, heart failure, and after heart attacks.

Ammonia-like body odor is not a known side effect caused due to the use of Lisinopril.

However, since you have polycystic kidney disease, it would be better to get your renal profile investigations done along with serum electrolytes.

Consult your doctor with the report for clinical evaluation and appropriate management.
