What Causes Altered Sense Of Taste?
I get a fecal taste sometimes when I swallow. I don t know if I have bad breath but the taste comes up. I have obsessive oral hygiene in response to my halitophobia. I am in great health exercising daily. I have read that taste is a poor indicator of ones breath. I have asked a friend and he genuinely seemed to have no idea of what I was talking about when I asked if my breath ever smelled bad. I want to visit a doctor and speak with him so I can get this cleared out of my head. I am 20 years old and smoked cigarettes for two years but quit half a year ago. Sometimes when I do smoke the fecal taste comes up easier. I drink about 3 bottles of water a day.

Well there can be many reasons for this condition like acid reflux , poor oral hygiene , oral infection like gingivitis , sinusitis , nervous system dysfunction , distal small bowel obstruction , gastrojejunocolic fistula , large bowel obstruction and bowel obstruction . I would suggest you to consult gastroenterologist for proper diagnosis . Doctor may order endoscopy or X-ray of digestive track . Doctor may refer you to oral pathologist or ENT specialist . For now maintain proper oral hygiene , eat fresh fruits and vegetables . Also drink green tea thrice a day .
