What Causes Adenovirus?

Daughter was diagnosed with an adnoid virus....I have 5 children..this is something I've never heard of. She looks terrible and has an ear infection to go with it. Dr. Gave eye drops and antibiotic, but says eye drops won't really do anything. Said you have to have eye drops to send back to school. Should I be doing eye drops...daughter says they burn really bad.

Hi thanks for asking question.

Adenovirus usually cause respiratory tract infections.

The viral infection can lead bodyache, muscle ache, eye burning etc...

Treat it symptomatically. No need for eye drops.

Prophylactically antibiotic can be taken.

Drink more water.

Avoid excess spicy and oily food for 3 to 4 days.

If nasal blockage present treat it with decongestent.
Steam inhalation useful.

I hope your concern solved.

If any unusual symptom appear consult doctor.
Take care...
