What Causes Acute Gastritis And Chronic Bad Breath?

yes I used to suffer with endometriosis in the early 80s middle 90s. As a result I have had about 10 surgeries, a large amount of codeine and now digestive system is not functioning properly. I have to natural substances like oxypowder to have a bowel movement on any given day. this condition also affects my oral hygiene. I can somewhat control by inducing a bowel movement with the natural substances. I have recently had a colonoscopy and endoscopy. there were no seen problems except the gastroenterologist diagnosed me with acute gastritis and chronic bad breath. I know his findings are not correct because I know my body. what if the gynecologist in all of the surgery connected something incorrectly. he was always cutting at the bottom of my stomach and now there is a pouch there that won t go away. I am small frame and I never had a problem losing weight. I ve never been fat a day in my life. I m scheduled to see another gastroenterologist upon receiving a referral from my primary.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms are nonspecific, but these may be suggestive of gastritis, GERD or hiatal hernia so you should do gastroscopy to evaluate it more accurately.

This is caused by irritation of stomach mucosa by certain food or medications, stress and smoking. SO firstly it should be treated with home remedies and changing dietary habits.

You need to avoid fried food, carbonated drinks, coffee, alcohol and spicy food. You should eat more milk products, vegetables and boiled food. Also, certain antiacid medications may be required such as PAntoprasole or Ranitidine.

In cases of severe pain, diagnosis should be established with endoscopic tests which include gastroscopy or barium swallow test.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Ivan R. Rommstein, General Surgeon
