What Causes Acid Reflux And Panic Attacks When Diagnosed With Hypertension?

I became hypertensive a month ago. At first I went to ER because of sudden acid reflux and panic attack. I was in the ER thinking it was a heart attack. But they couldn t see any sign that I m having cardiovascular problem they check my blood at ecg all normal but my blood pressure went up around 140/90 something. Then the next day I went for a checkup with my first cardiologist and diagnose me with high cholesterol and gave me a medicine. Repeatedly, my anxiety panic disorder always put me to ER everytime it was attacking me and of course the next day I was in clinic again for check up and all of my vitals are still normal. Even my cholesterol level went down in matter of 15days and the doctor told me to stop because I have high uric acid and my lower back aches. I was with my friend place when suddenly my anxiety attacked me again and of course I ended up in the ER again but this time different hospital and the following day I went to a different cardiologist and he diagnose me with hypertension as he checked on my BP. He gave me micardis 40mg for 28days along with ezom40. Duration for six months. Now I m confused because my first cardiologist told me no need still for medicine. But when I go for the second opinion to my 2nd cardiologist he told me to take meds. What should I do.

Hi,
Thanks for your question. I do understand your pain and discomfort. I have seen many patients with similar complaints. Please find my advice below-
1)Take BP medicines if you have diastolic pressure >90 mmhg only and restrict salt in diet if possible keep one BP instrument on hand.

2)let me tell you something about panic attack and what is the symptom of it.A panic attack is a sudden episode of intense fear that triggers severe physical reactions when there is no real danger or apparent cause .panic attacks can be very friending.symptoms which follow in panic attack is as below-
sense of impending doom or danger
fear of loss of control or death
rapid pounding heart rate
sweating
trembling or shaking
shortness of breath or tightness in your throat
chills
hot flashes
nausea
abdominal cramping
chest pain
headache
dizziness
numbness or tingling sensation
feeling of unreality or detachment
certain tests is required to proceed on this matter,so as you have already done ecg so do an ECHO and THYROID FUNCTION TESTS and a through psychological evaluation.
Treatment is tried a)psychotherapy-it is called first line of treatment,if it is successful then no medicine will be required.
b)medications which you can try -SSRI, which are as follows fluoxetine, paroxetine, sertraline .etc

3)for acid reflux do one GI endoscopy to ruled out any pathological growth present.Take vitamin B-12 injections 3 times weekly for up to one month then once a month.Add vitamin D in diets.
