Hello dear user!
Welcome to HCM!

It is the organism reaction against a foreign body (wooden piece). It seems that, that piece of wood has caused a local infection in your thumb. The pin you used to remove the foreign body may have been not sterile too.

The solution for this situation is removing of the wooden piece from your thumb. If you can't do it by yourself please go to the your healthcare center and ask a nurse or a doctor to do it. If it is needed you may take any antibiotics for a short period of time.

Take care!
I wish you all the best!
