What Causes Absence Of Fetal Movement During 18 Weeks Of Pregnancy?

I am 18 weeks pregnant. Last week I felt fetal movement X 3 days then had constipation X 6-7 days with no movemet... After BM- starting feeling fetal movement again. Now it has been 5 days without BM- and no fetal movement all day again. Is this normal? Should I be concerned about either BM or Fetal movement?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Frank fetal movements are evident to mother by 24 weeks. Before that it would be felt off & on. In case of doubt, you can get it checked by a nurse by auscultating on abdomen/it can be confirmed to be normal in ultrasonography scan of lower abdomen.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Vasudha Jayant Athavale
