Hi,I am Dr. Prabhakar Koregol (Cardiologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My wife had a preop test done today for her knee replacement and was told her EKG was slightly abnormal and now has to see a cardiologist before they will clear her for surgery. Is thi common and just taking extra precaution or could there be a big problem.
I understand your concern for your wifes health and i would like to tell you that this is a routine process and a part of precautionary measure that should be taken before sending any patient for surgery. If she dont have any heart issue in the past then dont worry. Rest the cardiologist will evaluate her and give opinion accordingly.
I wish her good health
