General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

The pelvic collection post appendectomy may be major concern for urinating pain and discomfort as there is compression over lower ureter, bladder or vesicoureteric junction. In my clinic, I do recommend an indwelling catheter if the intensity of pain is severe and clean intermittent catheterization if it is of moderate intensity.

Mild to moderate cases are best managed with:
- Culture sensitive antibiotics
- Round the clock coverage of analgesic and anti inflammatory medicines
- Hydration to prevent secondary bacterial infection

Regular follow up with her operating surgeon is mandatory for best results ahead.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
