What Causes Abdominal Pain Post Intake Of Cytotec Tablets?

Hi im 5 weeks pregnant and intake 5 tablets of cytotec and inserted 3 . few hours i had cramping and bleed for few hours only . no more bleeding after that . i went to my oby and check , she said my cervix is close . now my abdomen is hurting . what will.i do

Understand your concern
Abdominal pain occurs due to the uterine contraction that expels the pregnancy product and lead to abortion. But misoprostol also cause softening of cervix and dilation of cervix.
Generally abortion process will start 30-45 minutes after using pill and will complete in 3-5 days as bleeding will gradually decrease.
But closed cervix is inconclusive. If no induce bleeding then more misoprostol should be needed. So take more extra dose of misoprostol under observation of gynecologist that induce abortion and also soften and dilate the cervix.
But for safe practice post abortion USG should be done after 14 days to confirm complete process of abortion.
Abdominal pain will gradually disappear in 4-6 days.
Take meftal spas, apply warm pad, take proper rest, maintain pelvic hygiene , take healthy diet with iron supplements.
