What Causes Abdominal Pain On The Left Side And Dark Coloured Stool?

Doc I am a really anxious person . Am 19 years old male .I am always worried of myself getting cancer even when I don t have any family background with cancer .lately I had these small sharp pains on the left side of stomach that happens at times . And this has made me anxious again and now I think I am even loosing weight .I am getting these partially discoloured stools as well were part of it is darker .what could it be ?

Dark stool(melena) is often seen in upper digestive hemmorrhage that may be caused by medical conditions like gastric ulcers, oesophageal varice or gastric cancer.All these above possible causes of dark stool may as well present with abdominal pain.I will suggest you see the Doctor for examination and investigations.Tests that may help identify the cause of your problem may include: stool exam, h pylori test, abdominal scan, endoscopy.
I will suggest you see the Doctor for investigation.
