What Causes Abdominal Pain Despite Having A Non-obstructive Stone In Left Kidney?

I have a 7mm non-obstructing kidney stone in the lower pole of my left kidney. The nurser practitioner in the urologist office I was sent to said ESWL was not an option because of the location of the stone. She suggested we monitor it and wait and see if it grows. I hurt, but she said I shouldn t be in pain because it is non-obstructing. I would like a 2nd opinion.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi.

Pain can occur sometimes even when it is non-obstructing or not impacted. But if you share the ultrasound reports with me I can give you a second opinion.

Best wishes.
