What Causes Abdominal Pain Beside The Navel?

I have a slight pain that is below my last rib, between my belly button and my side. It started with a pain that would keep me up at night and seemed to even go to my back. So I did a kidney flush and gall bladder cleanse. The pain ceased.... and seemed to only be slight right before a bowel movement in the morning. I just finished an herb for the kidneys.... however the pain was slight most of the day today. It seems as tho when I push on it, it feels better. I only drink water all day. I never have soft drinks. I eat allot of raw fruit and I have been steeping some fruits and vegetables for flavored water. I do have a lil omelet in the mornings but try to eat mostly quinoa and cuis cuis and vegetables..... I am trying to diagnose this myself before having to go to the doctor for an MRI. I watched waste.... and my urine is clear... and my bowels are hard to detect right now cause of the cleanse.... but they are light brown and long....... skinny....... but not dark brown like they use to be.... Do you have any idea what this could be? I am energetic, get up at 4 am. every day and head to bed around 9:00 p.m. I looked at diverticulitus, crohns disease, ibs??? I don t think it is any of these..... What do you think?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have abdominal pain beside the navel . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like appendicitis , consuming foods known to cause gas in some people, such as milk products that contain lactose, broccoli , crohn’s disease , gastroenteritis , irritable bowel syndrome or urinary tract infection . Food allergy can also be one of the factor . Take ibuprofen or acetaminophen for pain. I would suggest you to avoid above mentioned foods , eat light and non spicy specially at night , take light walk after every meal , eat small and frequent meals .If condition doesn't get well then consult gastroenterologist for proper examination . Doctor may order ultrasound , endoscopy along with stool test . Doctor may prescribe ornidazole , omeprazole , laxative , anti inflammatory along with antacids . Doctor may also refer you to urologist for UTI .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
