What Causes Abdominal Pain And Bleeding After Rough Sex?
I had rough sex with a very well endowed partner and now I am experiencing minor abdominal pain and bleeding somewhat (the blood is darker than normal menstruation blood). My partner mentioned that he could feel my cervix during intercourse.
Have I torn my cervix? Should I see my gynecologist?
Hello! Thank you for asking Healthcaremagic! I had gone through your question and understand your concern. Answer: Don't worry! The chances of it being due to anything serious are small. The most likely cause of the bleeding is a cervical 'erosion', which can be easily treated by heating or freezing the surface of the bleeding area, either under a short anaesthetic at the gynaecology department of your local hospital. You need to consult a gynecologist that will probably perform an internal (pelvic) examination to assess the size and shape of your womb and ovaries and may also take a cervical smear test if you are not up to date, or swabs to rule out infection as a cause of the bleeding. Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. Wishing you good health! Dr Suela
