Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my 24 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER HAS STOMACH PAIN, ABDOMEN PAIN, AFTER EATING. SHE HAD HER APPENDIX OUT 3 YEARS AGO AND THE SURGEON STATED THE APPENDIX WAS ADHERED TO HER BODY CAVITY AND WAS VERY VERY INFLAMED. SHE THOUGHT IT WAS HER GALL BLADDER BUT A RECENT TEST (HIDA) STATED SHE HAS A NORMAL GALL BLADDER FUNCTION. THEY WANT TO DO AN UPPER ENDOSCOPY. WHAT ARE THEY LOOKING FOR?
Your daughter might be having acid peptic disease. She needs to follow some lifestyle tips such as:
1. Do not eat spicy food 2. Take medications for gastritis- Pantop/Omez/Rantac 3. Take little food at frequent intervals. Breakfast around 8 am, small snack at 11 am, lunch at 1 pm, small snack at 4 pm and dinner at 8 pm 4. Drink plenty of water 5. Do not smoke; take alcohol or tobacco and even excess of coffee and tea 6. Do not take much of stress. Stress aggravates gastritis 7. Do regular exercise. At least half an hour per day 8. Learn meditation techniques 9. Follow this regularly for 21 days. It is said that anything you practice regularly for 21 days becomes a habit
