What Causes Abdominal Cramping After Sexual Intercourse?

Hi, I have been having abdominal cramping, and after sexual intercourse today I felt pain by my cervix. I decided to see where the pain was coming from, and when I did I found a small lump on my cervix. I am in a monogamous marriage, and we have been trying to conceive. I had a colposcopy done in April 2014, and it came back normal but a year before this I had an abnormal Pap test which lead to me going to a specialist and getting the colposcopy. I have had stomach cramps and a gassy feeling for over a week now.

Hello ma'am and welcome.

The swelling will have to be physically examined and so I would strongly recommend a doctors visit. I would not have raised concern if a previous PAP smear wouldn't have reported abnormal cells. But as it has on at least one occassion in the past, it is better to be safe than sorry.

The gassy feeling is due to hormonal changes from menstruation, infections, stress, pre- or peri-menopause, etc.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
