What Causes Abdominal Bloating While On Medrol?

Hi, I have been on medrol for 2 months, I feel soo great but my stomach and hips etc r so bloated. I m on 2 daily 4mgs. Question is does this bloating go away in time. I have RA and Osteo, med really is helping but the bloating and feeling full at times bothers me. J. Hager I will just call dr Monday

Hello.

Medrol is a steroid and as such it has a risk to hurt the stomach and cause bloating. Very likely the bloating will not go away with time but to help with it you may need to take something to protect your stomach while you use this medication.

Omeprazole is a good options taken 1-2 tablets a day. Also make sure you eat frequent small amounts of food so the stomach does not remain empty for long times.
Try to avoid alcohol, smoking, energy drinks, coffee, spicy food and anything you notice makes your bloating worse.
