What Causes Abdominal Bloating And Weight Gain?

I am a heart patient, and diabetic, also in stage 3 kidney disease. Traveling from Pensacola, FL. Am in Jonesboro, AR. I have been feeling very bloated, weight gain, with a UTI. saw my nephrologist 5 days ago, he put me on a sulfur drug. Very uncomftable, really can t walk very far without severe shortness of breath. I have congestive heart failure, which has been pretty under control. Also had a flu shot 5 days ago. We are headed to Independence, MO, about 6 hours away. Am I dehydrated? Urine output decreased about 2 days ago. What should I do?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As per my surgical experience, there seems to be water retention from kidney or heart malfunction. I strongly recommend to immediately consult your cardiologist and nephrologist again for re-assessment and get blood creatinine, 2D Echo of the heart for further management guidelines.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
