What Causes Abdominal Bloating And Constipation Post Cholecystectomy?

I had a gall bladder removed 3 months ago, the problem is that I get bloated and stomach enlarge really huge. I also have a lot of gas but only pass a few short ones. Now I am constipated in all areas that some times I can hardly breath. I have taken medication from my Dr don t but it don t seem to work. It s been 7 days now and very uncomfortable. Will supposptpries do? I m afraid of enema. Thank you.

Yes, you can try suppositories to see if this would help you with your constipation which in turn would help with the bloating/gas.

Laxatives should not be used too often however, so after you get relief ,may need to look at other ways to help with constipation.

This may include lifestyle changes such as: (1) using at least 8 glasses or more of fluid daily. This would not include any caffeine drinks or alcohol
(2)at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables daily along with other whole grain foods
(3)being as physically active as possible
