What Causes Abdominal Bloating And Chills After Taking Losartan?

I have just started taking losartan potassium 50mg and I have for the last five days been having severe stomach gas (bloating), chills when this occurs, also pain in my right ankle area. I have been eating one banana each morning. I was trying to find out if I was having some kind of reaction to this medicine.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Some patients develop abdominal distress after taking Losartan drug. It will get cured by itself in a few days.

If this does not happen, then request your doctor to change drug. This Losartan drug reduces uric acid so no association with ankle pain. That must be due to something else.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Varinder Joshi
