What Causes Abdominal Bloating After Taking Dulcolax?
I have had stomach issues for about two weeks now. I tried drinking the stuff you drink for a colonoscopy. I had some bowel movement with that. Then 2 days ago I took some ducolax and had bowel movement with that. My stomach keeps feeling bloated and just upset. I have nausea sometimes. What could be the problem
Bloating is the side effect of Dulcolax. When you take a laxative, it diminishes water supplies in your body, causing dehydration. As a result, your body fights back by retaining water. This water retention results in bloating. Aside from bloating, laxative use may also result in abdominal cramping, gas, increased thirst and in some cases, diarrhea.
It will be settled in another day or two on its own.If the problem still persists then check it with your doctor.
Thanks Dr. Tripat Mehta
