What Causes Abdominal Bloating After Laparoscopic Bilateral Salpingectomy?

I had a bilateral salpingectomy 6 days ago. It was done laparascopically. I know that gas and bloating is normal but my lower abdomen is so bloated it almost feels hard. Reminds me of when I was pregnant. Would this be considered a normal post op occurrence? The hardness is what is concerning me.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It could be constipation from opioids. If you have flatulence and no significant pain you can just wait out using OTC laxatives.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Anders Mark Christensen, General Surgeon
