Hi.
Noted the history about your daughter who has started with a small red lump on cheek on the same side where she has swimmers ear, developed now to the size of a quarter with lighter white center.
This is most probably suggestive of an infected sebaceous
cyst or a pimple. and really related to the swimmer's ear.
Since the problem is on face immediate clinical evaluation by a Doctor, starting with antibiotic, anti-inflammatory medicine and local
povidone iodine should be started to reduce the complications of spread of infection,
abscess formation, large scar and so on.
As for the swimmer's ear the treatment with antibiotics, anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory should be done properly under the care of an ENT Surgeon.
The cheek lesion if it needs the incision should be done to have early and best possible recovery with least scar formation.
Timely treatment can avoid complications.
Take multivitamins and minerals for good recovery.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
