What Causes A Warm Sensation In The Rib Cage?

Hi - for some time now I have been getting an intermittent sensation to the right hand side of my lower rib cage, much like someone is pouring warm oil on my skin. It is not painful and whilst intermittent, when it happens, it can come and go for days at a time, then see no sign of it for a week or two. Any idea? I'm male, 35, 6 foot, 12 stone and no medical conditions to speak of.
