What Causes A Tender Lump On The Front Teeth Gums?

I have a tender lump that has just formed on my gum about a half inch above a front tooth that had a crown put on it about ten years ago. There are no issues surrounding the tooth. There is tenderness only where the lump has formed. What might it be? Should I see my dentist or physician?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

It seems like secondary infection in your crowned tooth that is leading to dental abscess formation..

Secondly it can be due to deep infection in the gum causing gum Bo or gum abscess formation..

Confirmation can be done by an Oral examination and x ray..

In case of tooth abscess Root Canal Treatment has to be done by getting crown removed or making an hole through the crown itself..

In case of gum abscess Scaling and Curettage followed by gum paint application can help..

Hope this helps..

Regards..
