My father is 88 and is in relatively good health. One month ago he developed an open sore on his big toe the size of a quarter, now it s the size of a 1/2 dollar and he has necrosis. A healthcare nurse has come in daily and it still is bad. What is our next step?
Hi, From history it seems that there might be having some vascular insufficiency giving rise poor circulation or formation of clot might have produced this problem. Go for blood sugar test to rule out diabetes. Consult surgeon and get examined. Proper dressing with proper cleaning preferably done by doctor. Ok and take care.
