Hi I am 25 years old and a woman. Over the last week I have been having bad headaches some ending up with vomitting. Along side this i have had pain in my neck making it hard to sleep. Today i discovered a small lump on the bottom right corner of my hairline on the back right side of my neck. Its more long then round its two inches long and stiff. I dont have health insurrance and am extremely worried. This goes down the right side of my neck diagnol to my right ear. What am i looking at here? Should i be worried?

Hi

Greetings from Dr Divakara P
Thanks for posting your query.

What lump you have noticed is actually a lymph nodes . These are normally present all over the body. Any kind of infection or inflammation in the nearby region these lymph nodes get enlarged.

There t no need to do anything for enlarged lymph nodes. But we need to address the cause for their enlargement. In your case , considering your pain in neck and headache it seems like you are having infection of throat.

For your infection you need to be started on antibiotic course . Kindly consult your doctor and get started on antibiotic.

Once your throat infection resolves the lump also resolves automatically.

Hope this information was useful to you.
Any clarification feel free to ask.
