What Causes A Red Rash Around The Head Of The Penis?
Hi. I am a man aged 33 and have been worried about my sexual health. I have mild sensation and very faint rush inside foreskin. At times I have a red rash on penis head but with some washing it disappears easily. Honestly I am skeptical about STI testing and am just looking for possible answers online. If I retract the foreskin I can pass urine well without any pain or unusual sensation but if I don t there is some sensation as the urine rubbs against the foreskin

General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM I have gone through your query. Your problem can be most likely due to fungal (yeast) infection . Using anti fungal creams like miconazole or terbinafine (Lamisil) for local application about 7 to 10 days will be helpful to clear this. If you had a risky unprotected sexual intercourse then it is better to do STD panel test to rule out STDs. Avoid soaps and irritants to clean the penis and foreskin. You can use just warm water instead. Use loose and cotton underwear. Avoid underwear while sleeping.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
