What Causes A Red Rash Around Nose Region?

I have had a red rash around my nose area for over 6 weeks and nothing much I do takes it away. Sometimes there are also small oily bubbles in the skin, but they are not acne; these bubbles also appear on my chin and in the folds of my skin around the mouth area. The best thing that works for the bubbles is Hydrogen peroxide -- but they come back as soon as I stop applying it; nothing seems to tame the rash. I ve tried hydrating the rash with liquid vitamin E. Ideas?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Rashes around the nose are commonly caused by skin care products that are scented, they trigger allergic contact dermatitis around the nose. Avoid using chemical cosmetic. Rash around the mouth are caused by infection, excessive drooling, hormonal changes, cosmetics, sunscreens or other skin care products, side effects of certain medicines, etc. Wash your face frequently with clean water. Avoid using scented face wash.

Stop applying any products that can trigger irritation or allergy. Avoid the use of makeup, lotions or fluoridated toothpaste for a couple of days. Practice good skin hygiene and cleanse skin at night before going to bed. Launder your pillowcases and bed covers frequently with warm water. Try avoiding spicy or acidic foods, since they can get on your skin and cause it to break out in a rash. Take balanced home made diet. Take water and fluids to stay hydrated. Avoid direct exposure to sun. You can take antihistamines for relief, one SOS when needed.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
