I have a rash on the outer labia. I have been using triple antibiotic cream for the past couple of days due to a cut and now today I noticed a rash. It doesn't hurt or burn of any sort. Could the rash be caused by the cream? Also I am getting ready to have back surgery on Monday, would this rash prevent me from having surgery?
You seem to have developed an allergic skin disease. Looks like you have developed it because of the medicine that you have been using. You should avoid applying any kind of skin irritants like dettol, spirit over it.
You might need to apply a topical steroid cream over the affected area twice a day for few days. Take some oral antihistamines along. See a nearby dermatologist if the condition tends to persist despite this therapy. You might need a course of oral steroids.
Hope it helps,
