What Causes A Rash On The Incision Site After Gallbladder Removal?

I had my gallbladder removed 2 weeks ago and I have a rash around my incision sites which is very sore, the itching drives me crazy. I am taking Benadryl and it helps a little but the rash does not seem to be getting better. Should I go back to the doctor??

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

You may need to be reviewed by your doctor if there is no improvement especially since the area is sore as well.

A cream may be needed such as a mild steroid cream like hydrocortisone, to reduce the inflammation in the area.

I hope this helps
