As per your complain a lump inside the tongue can be due to allergic reaction to any food or medication, it can also be beginning of an apthous ulcer, can be a soft tissue overgrowth etc.. I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation can help in diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly.. As of now you can take supportive treatment like apply a numbing gel containing Lignocaine to relieve pain.. You can take anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen.. Suck on ice pops and rinse with cold water.. Take multivitamin supplements.. Avoid spicy and hard foods.. Maintain a good oral hygiene to prevent infections.. Hope this information helps..
