What Causes A Pea Sized Sore Bump On The Tongue With Swelling?
Three days ago. As I was brushing my teeth an tongue. I felt a pea size bump inside my tongue. An now 3rd day its moved down to tip my tongue an size of a dime or bigger and sore. I don't remember bitting my tongue at anytime. But is very sore and swelled. From looking at top of my tongue you can't see it. But if I look under my tongue you can see the bump. Can a bad tooth cause this.
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain a lump inside the tongue can be due to allergic reaction to any food or medication, it can also be beginning of an apthous ulcer, can be a soft tissue overgrowth etc.. I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation can help in diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly..
As of now you can take supportive treatment like apply a numbing gel containing Lignocaine to relieve pain.. You can take anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen.. Suck on ice pops and rinse with cold water.. Take multivitamin supplements.. Avoid spicy and hard foods.. Maintain a good oral hygiene to prevent infections..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
