Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My wife is 49. The other day she had me feel the top of her head. She has a very soft spot about one inch diameter and is more like a hole. She never noticed it all of her life and that was the first time I had felt it. Not painful. No headaches. No symptoms. No trauma. Blood work couple of months ago normal. What could this be?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have painless soft spot on the scalp . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like skin cysts , cherry angioma , folliculitis , lipomas and neurofibromas , hyperthyroidism and lichen planus . I would suggest you to consult dermatologist if it is start growing or start changing its consistency . Doctor may examine physically and take biopsy . Doctor may prescribe steroid drug , liposuction or recommend removing it surgically . For now do not touch it again , maintain hygiene of scalp and again and apply warm compresses .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
