What Causes A Painful Lump On The Labia Majora?

Hi, I m 24 and have a small painful lump on my mons pubis area. It is under the skin and I thought it was a spot/ingrown hair but not sure. It s painful when pressed/prodded but normal day to day is just a little uncomfortable. I do shave down there regurlarly. Hope it will just go away on its own?

Hi,
welcome to the health care magic and thanks for asking your query here

there are variety of medical conditions which may cause a lump or bump on labia including an abscess more specifically and bartholin abscess , a bartholins cyst , it may also be caused by bacterial infection , fungal infection , or it may be caused by a sexually transmitted disease and it needs thorough medical checkup and investigations to rule out the exact diagnosis

as you have a painless bumps it is highly possible that you might have a small bartholin cyst caused by the blockage of the duct of bartholins gland located either side of vagina and bartholin cyst is usually painless and doesn't cause any symptoms it may grow in size and may require removal

as you have multiple sex partner in recent time there are high chances of infection and STD so I would strongly suggest you to visit gynaecologist she will thoroughly examine you can we go for all necessary medical investigations to rule out the exact underlying medical condition

I hope it helps
thanks and get well soon
