What Causes A Painful Lump On The Back Of The Thigh?

I have what seems like a bite on the back of my thigh. I thought it may be a spider bite.... don't know. I squeezed it and got it to bleed. My leg started to have pain going from the bite downward to my foot. It is very uncomfortable and very painful. Cannot get my leg into a comfortable position to relieve the pain. Any ideas of what it is?
