What Causes A Painful Lump Near The Anus?
Hi I am oil field worker working on offshore rig In 2014 I went through piles treatment by aurvedic thread method till last month every thing was ok. But last two week I observed some pain surrounding anus later it was mainly to left of anus. I went to doctor where they did proctoscopy and told i have fistula from second opinion itvwas it was blind fistula. Doctor gave me antibiotics and pain killer and told we will cure it with medicine and observe for 10 day or else try another way, but yesterday I noticed lump has developes almost almond size near left 4cm away from anus. Pain is like cramp of left side and after few hours then ibcan feel pain near and at lump, My left knee is also stressed. Unfortunately I came back to site in emergency with limited medical facility. The pain is still there relives for time being after taking medicine. Comes back...especially before going for there is no pain or strain while bowel and no blood stain. there is no discharge also. I will come back onshore after 5weeks. I am worried as there is now way ti make follow up to doctor. kindly help and suggest what is the reason How I can take care of this lumb so does become worst.

Your health issue seem to be chronic one, you'll need a thorough General surgeon examination and need to assess but for now few basic instructions will help you symptomatically:
1)Strictly avoid alcohol/smoking/spicy foods - they tend to worsen your symptoms.
2)Good hydration (4-5litres water)
3)Increase fibre diet (like green leafy vegetables, bananas)
4) You can do Sitz bath(lukewarm water with antiseptic solution like dettol and sit in the tub for 5-10minutes) and keep the anal area clean and dry.
5) For pain Local application of 0.5% lignocaine gel before and after stool might help.
