What Causes A Painful Lump And Swelling Of The Tongue?
I have had a lump inside of my tongue on the right side for about a week! It's sore to touch and also my tongue swells when I mess with it! I woke up a couple of days ago with a knot under my tongue on the right side and a knot that is white on my left! The white is hard, and painful! What could this be?
I think the lumps inside the tongue that are painful can be due to inflammation of papillae that can be causing transient papillitis. However the lump under tongue that is white and hard can be salivary stones and can be confirmed and treated it after clinical examination by an Oral Physician.. You can start doing warm saline gargles.. Start taking Vitamin B complex and lysine supplements.. You can apply Lidocaine gel over the lumps to relieve pain and take painkillers like Ibuprofen.. Do cool compresses over the lumps..
If the lumps does not reduce in a week consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated..
Hope this helps..
Regards..
