Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I fell monday morning and hit my head. I had a nice bump on my forehead but just a slight bruise. By the end of the day blood was pooling under my eyes. Now my entire eye lid and a circle under both eyes is purple. No headache, blurred vision or any other signs of a concussion. Is this something I should be worried about?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have painful bump on the forehead .The symptoms you mention in query can occur due to many reasons like soft tissue tumour like lipoma, neurofibroma or some skin adenexal tumour or benign cyst. you should go for biopsy of that lump. It can also occur due to folliculitis.
An aspiration cytology of the lump should be done to assess the nature of the lump on the forehead. For now clean your skin with betadine and apply over the counter antibiotics and anti inflammatory ointment .
I would suggest you to meet surgeon so that it can be examined properly and appropriate treatment can be initiated . Meanwhile stay calm and use acetaminophen to relieve pain
Hope your concern had been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
