What Causes A Mild Smell After A Cyst Removal Surgery On The Back?
I recently had a small surgery to remove a cyst on my back. The doctor said to make sure that the dressing is changed regularly. I had a followup and the doctor said that it looks like it is improving and there was no further need for future followups but to continue to cleanse the wound and change the dressing. It has improved thanks to my Mother washing and changing the bandage daily. She told me that it looks well and a scab is forming and there is no more drainage however I was just why the wound seems to give off a small smell at times which my Mother does not notice but I get this scent every once in a while. Is this normal and is there anything i can purchase to dull this smell. Thanks
As per your case history you are having cyst site infection, my treatment advice is -
1. Don't squeeze the lesions as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like Fusiderm cream.
3. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics like Levofloxacin and Azithromycin taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
