What Causes A Lump On The Right Upper Arm After Injecting Methamphetamine?

I am an intravenous meth user and developed a cellulitis bump on upper right arm. I have been to emergency and am on a round of Cephalexin. Yesterday I injected meth into a vein directly below the lump and the lump has changed shapes. Do I require medical attention?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

It could be a hematoma.

Consult a general surgeon and get an ultrasound scan done.

In most cases, the lump will resolve by itself.

If persists surgical excision might be required.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
