What Causes A Lesion Between The Fingers?

Hello, my grandfather recently had a lesion on his left hand, in between the index and thumb. There was purulent drainage coming out of it, as well as a foul odor. I want to know if I am able to take him to the hospital for that or just wait? His children are very stubborn and are just waiting to see what will happen. If I cam please get an answer I would greatly appreciate it.

dear
Grand pa is really having an infections Here we must be sure that whether he is diabetic?. Since the wound in finger web is infected and discharge is there we need to dress it properly and regularly along with regular antibiotic coverage.
It is true that at this age we cannot allow the infections to proceed further as the wound healing is also delayed in old age.
so plz consult a near by surgical. opd.

hope this helps.
welcome for further queries
