Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My daughter was bitten by a mosquito on the back of her ankle and now has a huge water blister. It s about as big as my thumb nail and about half an inch high. It has been drained a couple times but keeps coming back. I ve put antibiotic cream on it after it was drained. Is there anything else I can do to help it go away? She says it s itchy and painful. She s only 4 years old.
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. In my opinion, she needs proper incision and drainage (I and D) of this blister. Recurrent nature of this blister is suggestive of deep infection. And deep infection needs surgical exploration of that part and proper deeper cleaning of this area. So consult surgeon and discuss all these. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wishing good health to your daughter. Thanks.
