What Causes A Knot On The Bottom Of Jawline After Wisdom Tooth Removal?

Hi, I recently got a wisdom tooth surgery removing my bottom two teeth. My bottom right became infected and now there s a knot on my jawline. My doctor tried to previously drain it but couldn t get everything. Should I be seeking a oral surgeon for medical consultation or is it going to go away?

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain a hard knot after surgical removal of wisdom tooth is a commonly seen issue and you need not to worry as it can be due to Hematoma formation and accumulation of inflammatory cells, fibres and ruptured blood vessels at the site of surgery..
I would suggest you to do alternate warm and cool compresses over the swelling..
You can also take Ibuprofen to reduce swelling and pain..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards.
