What Causes A Knot On Spine After A Spinal Fusion?

my son had spinal fusion surgery in July 2011 and has now developed a knot on his back on his spine. He's seen his surgeon who recommended lab work to determine if it is an infection. I guess i'm growing impatient and wondered what could the knot be?

Thanks for your question dear whether with this knot develops audenly or not patient has fever vomiting etc associated if you then it will be infecious and most probably due to collection of pus other thing is that may be due to overgrowth of tissue over operated region that happen in some cases most probably beningn
