What Causes A Immovable Lump In Knee?

My husband just discovered a hard immovable lump about the size of half an egg on the inside of his leg, beside his knee. It feels like it s attached to a muscle. Is this cause for concern? It doesn t bother him and he s not aware that it s been growing at all.
