What Causes A Hissing Sound In The Ears?

For about four months I have had a hissing sound in my ears/head, a steroid nose spray from doctor has not helped and now I am being sent for a hearing test at the hospital, though I don t feel I have a hearing problem, I am 67, and thought I was in reasonable health after having a recent health test.

Welcome to HCM,
This called as Tinnitus..its usually benign deosnt have any harmfull effects..the cause could be as simple as age related hearing loss or wax. If no harmful signs like ear bleed, giddiness, swelling, disproportionate hearing loss, nothing to worry...
